Bursting at the seams

The house was beyond insane today.  Each day it seems to get even more crazy....

Three woman from "Somebody Cares America" came in the morning to the house to play with kids and do a puppet show for them.  In the midst of all that, we got a phone call from a team that they had a little boy that needed help.  He is only 12 pounds and he is three years old.  Dorothy agreed that we would take him.

Before they arrived with him, Mary and Emory Wilson came from Gonaives with twin girls.  Their mother had died during childbirth and their aunt had been taking care of them.  They were not doing well and losing weight.  So, we also agreed to take them.  They arrived around lunch time and the chaos started immediately.  We started intake forms, weighed the babies, put in feeding tubes, started oxygen, and wrapped them in blankets with hot water bottles.  All of that happen incredibly fast.  In the midst of all that going on, another group of people came by to visit.  So, we were running around trying to take care of the girls with around ten guests standing in the dinning room watching.

The smallest girl, Fransis, weighs only 4 pounds 2 ounces.  The other twin, Francesca, weighs 5 pounds.  Fransis was VERY cold and had a low oxygen level when they arrived.  I held her wrapped up against my body with a hot water bottle to help bring her temperature up.  Believe me, I was sweating!  While we were still trying to take care of the twins, the team arrived with their little boy, who we think is named Jude.

It was a team of nurses and a pediatrician.  The house just continued to get more full!  But, it all worked for the best and God provided.  The pediatrician was able to check out all three children.  He said he thinks with good nutrition the girls should be able to do just fine.  He also wrote out a feeding plan for all three children.  They all need to be fed every 2.5 hours.  Thank the Lord that my mom is here to help with all of this!!  We won't be getting much sleep for a while.

Dorothy had to run back to the hospital to check on Christian, our little boy with pneumonia.  Mom and I just got finished mixing formula and feeding all three.  I made one of my suitcases into a bed and Jude is sleeping in it on my bedroom floor.  The twin girls are sleeping side by side on my mom's bed at the moment.

Honestly, it was the craziest day at our house ever!  Someone asked me recently what the maximum capacity of our house is.  I don't think we have one, ha!  God always provides so we just keep taking the kids in and doing our best.  Currently, we have 33 children living with us!!  It is one FULL HOUSE!  Words cannot describe.....
