Tuesday....still have sick kids!

Today, mom and I worked in the morning to finish painting the last few parts of the wall and touch up a few areas. Then, we spent the remainder of the day just playing with the kids.

At lunch time, we heard Rose Mitchel (our 9 pound 9 month old) crying and went to check on her. The nanny must have just finished feeding her and put her back in her crib. Rose had thrown up all her lunch all over herself and her crib. It was a mess. Mom and I were both glad that we heard her crying since the nanny was out of the room feeding another baby. We cleaned her up and changed her outfit.

Dorothy was gone most of the day at the hospital with Christian/Lucio (long story...he has 2 first names). He still had a fever and vomiting today when he woke up. He is one of our HIV kids so, she took him into the HIV clinic to see the doctor again. They found out that he has pneumonia. I'm not sure what his CD4 count is, but I'm praying that his immune system can handle it. Please pray for his recovery.

Tamara, our little girl with a million problems, has had a fever since yesterday. Now, she has also started coughing. Claudine seems to have something similar to me...a cold/sinus infection.

On top of all that, Rose Mitchel has not been able to keep any food down (as mentioned already). Because she is so malnourished, our pediatrician recommended that she eat Medica Mamba, a high nutrition peanut butter. For her size, she should eat at least 6 spoonfuls a day. Which believe me, seems like a lot for such a tiny baby. Haitians feed children/babies much differently than in the US. They insist on feeding them the most enormous bites possible (even if it gets all over their faces), in large quantities, and very quickly. It is difficult to watch, ha. So, Dorothy and I were afraid that maybe they were feeding Rose Mitchel too much too fast. So, We mixed her dinner up ourselves, and I fed her. Unfortunately, she still vomited it all up. We have decided to take her off the Medica Mamba for at least a day and try to let her stomach adjust. Dorothy is so busy with everything else, that I offered to keep an eye on her and make sure the nannies are all on the same page with her feeding instructions. Please keep her in your prayers as well that she can start eating more and gain weight.

Rose Mitchel and Dorothy

Rose Mitchel again.  She is the happiest baby I have ever met.

Rose Mitchel and I checking my email together.  She is SO tiny!

Rose Mitchel wearing a size 6 months outfit...she is nine months old.  Look how big it is on her.
This is little Tamara.  She had to sleep in a laundry basket her first night because we were out of cribs.  This poor little girl needs a lot of medical help.  She is 17 months old and 13 pounds (among many other problems).
